About me…

Under ‘Vertical Impulse’ I bring together my various skills as a filmmaker, graphic artist and dialogue
facilitator. The name ‘Vertical Impulse’ came to me once like a flash as I was walking down the
streets of London thinking about the purpose of life. A ‘Vertical Impulse’ to me is a journey of
enquiry. A force that comes from deep within one’s own source and wants to express freedom and
passion for life, researching beauty, truth, harmony and rightness, questioning and breaking down
that which is false and untrue, in speech, creative contemplation, artistic work, simply engaging with
other humans and non-human beings – and with oneself. There is a bottomless well of depth and a
timeless experience of wonder to be explored, a lifelong practise of enquiry.

I have started out early following the contemplative path and although I wanted to become a
Buddhist nun, I then worked for over 20 years as a graphic designer, brand change-manager and
project-manager for several major global creative agencies, non-profit organisations and educational institutions in London whilst deepening my own philosophical enquiry in the midst of the colourful happenings that we call ‘life’.

With a Master’s degree in Applied Imagination from London University of Art and Design (Dist), I
went on to study documentary filmmaking at the London Documentary School and produced my
first documentary film in 2016 Why Women Need to Climb Mountains – A Documentary on the Life and Vision of Dr. Gerda Lerner and various other films. In the film True Healing Arises in Freedom (2019) I accompany the Biochemist Dr. Roger Kalbermatten in his research about the nature of healing plants and their relationship with us humans.

After an impactful meeting with Indian philosopher and social activist Vimala Thakar, I made the film In the Fire of Dancing Stillness (2020), which has already been translated into seven languages. My other (film) projects deal with the urgent questions of our time.

I was co-founder of the philosophical German magazine evolve (Magazine for Consciousness and Culture) and its CEO and Art Director until the end of 2018.

I grew up in Peru to Swiss parents and then moved all over the world and see the whole globe as my
home. Right now I am based in Berlin where I also run a couple of Salons where good dialogue
practice is being practised. I am a Member of the European Network for Dialogue Facilitation.
